Super Mario Brothers on Ice
Quicktime movie (14.9 MB) It's 1988 Princess Peach has a saucy voice. Luigi is blowing things up. Hosted by Jason Bateman and Alyssa Milano. There is nothing I can say. It is something that should be watched.

Crazy Woman
This story about some action on Saturday night at my Mom's house was lifted from Stanley's Blog. (On Saturday) I didn't come home until 3-ish. I took a shower, and played a bit of King of Fighters in the kitchen. I heard a knock on the back door, so I checked to see who it was. There was a woman, crying (? Dry eyed) saying that she got beat up by her husband and needed a light for her smoke. A very long story that made little sense followed. Something about how her in-laws are at her house and where on her husbands side, slammed her head in a wall, and kicked her out. I asked if she called police, or if I should call, and she said she did, and told me there was no need for me to call.
She then got very aggressive about the light, and I told her (very calmly) that no one smokes in this house. She ranted on for about 5 minutes about how she makes $17/hour and other nonsense, as I was trying to calm her down. I asked if she wanted a hot drink or something(she was standing outside of the doorway the whole time, BTW), but she declined and told me to dial a cab. I dialed, and gave her the receiver. She told the operator a similar, but unmistakably different story of the one she told me (Now her in-laws beat her up while her child watched). After the call, she continued to cuss & whine about her un-lit cigarette and suggested that I take her smoke and light it with the stove @__@ That went on for another couple of minutes until she finally left, un-lit to the church across the street where she would get picked up.
Obviously, her story was full of holes. If you call police, shouldn't you be stationary some where so you can tell them what happened? And if you just went thro a traumatic domestic experience (she looked fine, by the way), I don't think finding a light for your smoke would be the top priority.
It's not unusual for crazy people to knock at our door. It's not a regular occurrence, but it has happened at least twice before in the last 15 years (probably 'cuz someone is always up and we're on a corner lot). There is probably some really interesting characters living in the neighborhood. The other two incidents Stanley mentioned:
The first one happened when I was 16, and my younger cousin Andrea was visiting. Some middle-aged guy came knocking at the back door on Canada Day around midnight. I can't really remember what he wanted now, but spoke to him through the screen the entire time and eventually started to try to come into the house but I wouldn't let go of the door (he must have been weak because I don't think I was that strong). My mom had called the police and my cousin her dad, who was across the street at my grandmother's house. I remember the police showing up and the guy was crossing the street in front of our house. One of the officers said "oh, him again!" and the went to escort him away.
Second incident was a couple of years ago. A teenaged girl who was looking for a hot tub party. We were eating outside and having a barbecue. We let her eat with us and eventually she went off on her way after using the phone a couple of times.

Moose

This poor moose got suspended 50 feet up in the air. I like how tranquilizers were ruled out because it could ruin the meat. @_@

I'm Famous!
I was at the Husky convenience store tonight and Frank Cho, who runs the place, recognized me from Vegreville.net.
I thought that was pretty cool!

Happy Day!
1) I got a call from the prosecutors office in Edmonton. I was supposed to testify in court this Friday about the guy that punched me in the face back in 2001. Ends up they don't need me anymore! I already testified once in February and I guess the defense hasn't put their act together or submitted some sort of documents requesting my presence so I'm not going to get cross-examined! YAY!
2) My San Diego Comic Con She-Ra exclusive Laurie Kronenberg won for me came in the mail today! YAY!
3) I have a goofy little video game comics news site I have started in the summer and slowly tinker with every now and then. It's mostly just a hobby thing for myself to learn html and have a place I can keep track of the video game comics news. I never took it too seriously. I also haven't been promoting it since I still have a lot of work to do on it. It's fairly raw as it is right now.
Four Color Arcade
To my surprise I got an e-mail from Dreamwave Productions saying they liked my site and have added me to their media lists! I find it funny I'm considered "media" now. I didn't really think my hobby site can evolve into something more than just another fanpage about comics. YAY!

How NOT to be a political candidate
This October we have municipal elections. Since I haven't been a resident of Vegreville for very long, I really don't know what the issues are around here or who's who.
I can say this much though: Vegreville Mayoral candidate Richard Coleman is the first politician I've ever "met" in the sense that he's the first politician who didn't try to shake my hand. In fact he didn't even smile at me. He hardly smiled at all! He actually avoided eye contact with me! What an unfriendly middle-aged prick. It has been suggested to me by one of my friends to go down to his campaign office and sit down and talk to him. She really believes in him and I'm sure she's already made up her mind to vote for him. If I go I really don't know what I'd say to him and all I can think of is his bitter scowlly face. Maybe I'll ask him why he was such a jerk to me on Monday.
In all honesty I should be looking at each candidate as to their ability to do the job and whatnot, but I can't get it out of my head that I think this guy is a cocksucker.
