Grand Theft Auto contrversy explained by me!
Reading news reports and talking to people made me realize people have no clue exactly what the big hoopla is about. I'll try to explain it in a way non-geeks would understand.

The actually version programed into the game has both characters with clothes on. That's right, they were clothed! Even though it was in the game originally, they made that scene inaccessible in the released version. So it was on the disk somwhere, but you couldn't get to the sex mini-game. Someone eventually developed the "Hot Coffee Mod" which is a patch that activated the sex mini-game in San Andreas. Who did? Probably a bored hacker looking for hidden data in programs.

Later on, some hacker developed a patch to make the girl nude. That perverted bonehead nerd made everything worse as San Andreas was under investigation by the nutty politicians at the same time he released that mod! One that nude patch was released in the wild, the politicians found the excuse they needed to slap an 18+ rating on the game. Which is pretty retarded since a lot of software can be patched to have content not in the original program. To me this is the equivalent to making cucumbers adults only because you can use it like a sex toy. Might as well make everything adults only!

Telus is REALLY Evil
If you are a Telus Communications customer, it is very important to read the following articles from BoingBoing.net

Phone company blocks access to telecoms union's website

Canadian telco that blocked union websites is breaking all kinds of laws

That's right. Telus is trying to control what you see on the web.

Make sure you send complaints to the CRTC.

Transformers Movie: The Sucking Continues!
Can you imagine celebrity voices for Optimus Prime?

During the press junket for "Four Brothers" this weekend in New York, producer Lorenzo Di Bonaventura talked to IESB about how the "Transformers" film is progressing and revealed that the script has been completely changed from John Rogers early draft.

"We are going to stay true to the Transformers" said the former Warner chief exec who isn't keen on the idea of the original voice over actors reprising their roles - "I don't believe that is going to happen, I don't know why you would want the original voice over actors."

DiBonaventura continued his explanation with "This is going to be the process, we are going to meet a lot of people for the voice over's and those guy's might end up being it but making the assumption going in [is I think kind of silly actually. I think people want the best actors to do it."

What an ass. Voice actors are actors too.

Home Finally
Well the flight back from the US was an interesting one. I went through airport security with absolutely no problems. The funny thing is I had a paring knife and some pointy scissors in my carry on luggage the WHOLE TIME! And the flight was after the London bombings when security is supposed to be tighter. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! I wish I realized I had the knife because I would have taken a photo of me with it on the plane. >_<

Goodbye America!
I'm about to leave now. I'm currently at the airport waiting for my flight. In a way, I'm a bit sad to leave. Pertly because I'm leaving my mom and oldest brother behind to finish taking care of my Aunt's things, and partly because the people I have met down here are amazing! So many very friendly people here. The neighbours have been so good to us and very generous! I have made so many friends down here! My overall impression of New York is that it's filled with really nice people and really good delis :D

This has been the most emotional time of my life, I think. It doesn't feel like it's over and I won't feel like it will be until mom comes home.

I wish I came down on better circumstances. After the memorial, I did feel a bit better about being here. Thanks to everyone for the hospitality.

I'll be back.

Dear World,
Even though I am in New York this is NOT a vacation. Since I am here, I will try to go out and do stuff but out of respect for me and my family and the reasons why we are here, please refrain from asking me things like "how is the big apple?" before you at least offer some sort of condolences first. It's surprising how rude so many people are.

Memorial mass is for tomorrow. I will post about how it went in the evening.
