Baman Lego
I regularly read Lethargic Lad and to my surprise, cartoonist Greg Hyland announced he has been working on comics for the packaging of the new Batman Lego Toyline!

Hyland said,
"What I was working on was comics to be put on the boxes of LEGO's new LEGO Batman line!

I did six different comics for the different sets featuring Batman against Catwoman, Killer Croc, Two-Face, The Joker, The Penguin, Mr. Freeze, The Riddler, Scarecrow and Poison Ivy. All the sets come with Batman and at least one villain, and the Batcave set comes with Robin and Alfred, and the Arkham Asylum set also comes with Nightwing.

I also eded up doing the storyboards for two Batman TV commercials (as well as two LEGO Star Wars TV commercials) that will hopefully be on air soon, and most recently I did some Flash animation for a LEGO Batman website."
He also said batbrick.com will be updated with news, pictures and art from the production.

Teaser Trailer:

You can already order Batman Legos online from the official Lego Shop and should be appearing in stores in the beginning of April.

The first Lego Batman digital comic is viewable now on the Official Lego Website.

Life Update
Just a few quick notes:

1. I'm flatting (colouring) more comic books than ever. I think my hand wants to fall off.
2. I need people to visit my new site Pulp Arcade.com and tell me what you think of it. They layout and all that. Critiques and criticisms welcomed. PLEASE!
3. My knee is horribly bruised and still painful, but the pain and swelling has decreased enough for me to believe I didn't sprain it too badly.
4. My town is getting a Wal-Mart. Ugh. But that's not what really pissed me off. More to come later when I rant.

Podcast Superstars' Superman Charity Auction
Geek Alert!

Over on the This Week in Tech (TWiT) blog, Leo Laporte announced a charity eBay auction for eight copies of Adventures of Superman #648, where artist Karl Kerschl had three characters sport gear with logos of the popular technology podcasts commandN, TWiT and Hak.5.

The eight comics are each signed and numbered by:

The top three bidders will also receive the comic signed by Alli from Hak.5 (I guess Alli wanted to be the rare variant). As well as assorted TWiT swag and the highly coveted TWiT Pocket Protector autographed by:

Leo Laporte stealing a TV? I'm all over that! Good thing Darren at Hak.5 made it into a desktop wallpaper!

HAPPY BIDDING! (Ends 17-Mar-06 14:30:48 EST)

Proceeds of the auction goes to the Electronic Frontier Foundation.

Steph's Notes of interest:
Karl Kerschl has a podcast called the Horcast which is my favourite comic (and Canadian arts) podcast.

Leo Laporte had recently started a new podcast with Mad's Maddest Writer and gadget expert Dick DeBartolo called the Daily GizWiz.

Yes, I actually listen to or watch the all of the podcasts I have listed above.

Bedridden
We went sledding today, and for the first time ever, I have injured myself. I've done this a million times before, usually face first like in the Olympic Sport, Skeleton. The cool part is going down on a GT Racer. The less cool part is going up that hill with the GT Racer. We met a nice couple with a giant tube, which was loads of fun until the last run I went on, which had my knee dragging on the grown for a while as we were wiping out. It wasn't eve through the trees this time! Currently the knee is on ice, with a beautiful blue swelling effect. I've sprained this knee before and it feels like I probably sprained it again. I'm gonna sleep on it and see how it is tomorrow.

Medicom's Rocketeer Figure
Anyone have 14,800 yen (approx $140 Canadian) they can spare me?

I am so blown away by this dolly. I'd probably order one if I didn't find out about
Takara's gorgeous Cool Girl Catwoman!

It's Catwoman! In my favourite costume, the Darwyn Cooke design! In Cool Girl! I love Cool Girls! They're my favourite toys EVER!
Eeeek! MUST GET!

(Shown with Cool Girl Batman. Yes, Batman is a Cool Girl! Takara getting the DC license is the best thing ever!)

If you are unfamiliar with Cool Girls, they are super articulated dolls I collect with fabric clothing, highly detailed equipment and "real" hair. They are what Takara based the smaller Microman figures on.
